Band in Seattle - Episode 209

Blood Drugs And Pony Time

Year: 2015

Runtime: 00:22:25

Pony Time creates some great sound coming from only two artists, Luke Beetham on Bass and Stacy Peck on drums. At first you might think it’s a rhythm section without the melody line, but not so. Luke can provide both melody and rhythm with his diverse and unique style. With Stacy’s great drumming, they create something extraordinary.

Blood Drugs is a 4-piece band that’s all about American punk. Claiming to be inspired by discordant chords and some Demon named Lahad, Kyle Bradford, guitarist/vocalist, creates the deeply felt lyrics. Kyle’s backed up by Shawn Koch also on guitar, Gwen Stubbs on bass and drums with Thomas Burke.

Influenced by early punk and rock bands such as MC5, Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Damned, The Stooges and The Heartbreakers as well as heavier bands such as Venom, Blue Cheer and Motorhead the bands debut album -
Hellacopters have made quite a name for themselves in Europe and Australia. And a deal with Sub Pop had them targeting the States. The rock -- fast, extremely hard, and loud beyond reason -- has gotten the band noticed by several of their seminal influences, such as Scott Morgan, who has performed with them many times as well as collaborated on a single for the aforementioned Sub Pop label, and also the Dictators, with whom they have done several European tours.

What you hold in your hands is the continuing story of our band, what it means to us, and what it means to people like you. At our request, all the live footage you see in the film is completely unedited; meaning we didn't go back and fix or re-do anything. We felt it should stand or fall on its own merit, and be embraced for what is, which is live music. Who knows, maybe we'll feel differently next year. But for now, the moments are captured raw as we make our way to another station : another mile." Rise Against
