The Raconteurs

Although they deny that this is a side-project, the Raconteurs are a gang of musicians who are also involved in other bands, most notably Jack White -- the male half of the White Stripes. One afternoon Jack stopped by singer and production wizard Brendan Benson's place (for some pancakes, he says) and instead found himself supplying lyrics to a song that would become the Raconteurs' first single, "Steady As She Goes." Eventually invited to this musical poker party was the rhythm section to Cincinnati band the Greenhornes: drummer Patrick Keeler and bassist Jack Lawrence. These old friends share a love of all things vintage whether it be instruments, amplifiers, clothes or fuzzed out melodies from the '60s and '70s.
