  • Live in Cologne, Germany

    Hellacopters

    Year: 2008

    Runtime: 60 min

Influenced by early punk and rock bands such as MC5, Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Damned, The Stooges and The Heartbreakers as well as heavier bands such as Venom, Blue Cheer and Motorhead the bands debut album -
Hellacopters have made quite a name for themselves in Europe and Australia. And a deal with Sub Pop had them targeting the States. The rock -- fast, extremely hard, and loud beyond reason -- has gotten the band noticed by several of their seminal influences, such as Scott Morgan, who has performed with them many times as well as collaborated on a single for the aforementioned Sub Pop label, and also the Dictators, with whom they have done several European tours.

The Unheard Music is a documentary that combines live footage of the band and interviews with the four members (as well as their friends and families) with surreal music videos and montages of newsreel footage and vintage television commercials which help to illustrate X's uphill struggle against the music industry. Rise Against

    Year: 2009

    Runtime: 1 hr 35 min

"Since we put together our last film, the snowball that is Rise Against is still gathering size and speed. What you hold in your hands is the continuing story of our band, what it means to us, and what it means to people like you. At our request, all the live footage you see in the film is completely unedited; meaning we didn't go back and fix or re-do anything. We felt it should stand or fall on its own merit, and be embraced for what is, which is live music. Who knows, maybe we'll feel differently next year. But for now, the moments are captured raw as we make our way to another station : another mile." Rise Against

  • Chicago Live at Soundstage

    Chicago

    Year: 2002

    Runtime: 54 min

One of the most loved bands in rock history, as well as one of the most commercially successful-with 50 hit songs in the U.S. alone, 18 gold records, a Grammy, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Chicago have maintained the unflagging devotion of millions of devoted fans throughout their 37-year career. It began with the goal of incorporating the diverse musical range of their hometown Chicago, and incorporating the big-band aesthetic that included horns which had been virtually left behind in the world of rock and roll, Chicago went on to create a sound that remains unparalleled in rock music. Incorporating rock as only one genre among the many that they drew from, the band courageously rejected the trappings of celebrity in order for the music to stand on its own. This program documents a live show that was broadcast on PBS in June of 2003 where they play many of their hits from throughout their long career, including "25 or Six to Four," "You're the Inspiration," "Saturday in the Park," and "Beginnings," among many others.

  • Freaks in Love

    Alice Donut

    Year: 2010

    Runtime: 1 hr 38 min

FREAKS IN LOVE documents the 25 year career of the seminal psychedelic-punk band Alice Donut. From it's humble beginnings to just play a gig at CBGBs to signing to Alternative Tentacles to performing at Reading Festival and touring with Blind Melon.

Through its ups and downs the band has remained friends and created some of the underground's most compelling music. This is also the story of many bands from the late '80s / early '90s when getting in a van and touring the country was all one could ask for, when free beer and pizza were a luxury and then it blew out of proportion with one band, Nirvana.

The industry changed and Alice Donut adapted.

Technology also changed how the band dealt with making music.

Jello Biafra, Curt Kirkwood of Meat Puppets, producer Martin Bisi, music industry insiders and the band tell the story of how Alice Donut has been able to 'Freak Freely' by just doing it for themselves for 25 Years and counting.
