Their debut album, My Head Is an Animal, was released in Iceland by Record Records in the fall of 2011. Its infectious first single, "Little Talks," saw worldwide success, and the band signed with Universal Music Group.

For the true Mutemath fan, this film includes the entire performance, complete with moody stage lighting and crowd surfing by the bandmates themselves. The actual music is the highlight here, though, since a textured record like Armistice isn’t the easiest thing to re-create on-stage. As a result, Armistice Live isn’t your typical fans-only concert album; it’s a testament to Mutemath’s strength as a band, and arguably their most interesting release to date.

    Mumford & Sons

    Year: 2010

    Runtime: 57 min

The atmosphere at Music Hall Of Williamsburg was thick; like a down blanket, or a warm piece of cake, or any number of your favorite comfortable things. That could probably be attributed to the lush harmonies and textures of Mumford and Sons, a group of musicians (and not a family owned apothecary) who knocked several out of the park during this sold-out show earlier this Spring. From the schizophrenic instrument swaps to the bass-drum heavy foot-stomping tunes, Mumford and Sons produce a slice of music that is both wonderful and intrinsically dashing...and our cameras were there to prove it.

It's a freaky sort of space, a place where bare, industrial stairways suddenly lead to a surprising, rooftop abode that really hammers home a serene, upstate vibe. Right there on Wall Streetkind of an appropriate setting for a band that dabbles in creating serene and rustic (OK, their recent album Songs of Patience also rocks) tunes from their newfound hometown, NYC.

    Beirut

    Runtime: 37 min

Summer 2011 saw the release of The Rip Tide on Condons own Pompeii Label, Beiruts first proper LP since The Flying Club Cup. Written in isolation during a snowy upstate winter, the album marked a stark change in emotional direction, that is to say, inward. Reflecting less on the travels and travails borne of the wanderlust struck musician, instead, The Rip Tide has crystallized the sounds of Beiruts past into a cohesive and remarkable whole, all while maintaining the unmistakable aesthetic that has brought them around the world, and home again.

Recently, the band released The Century of Self on their own independent Richter Scale imprint. Rich, sophisticated, complex, yet ultimately articulate; Century of Self is deep in scope, straining themes of mythology, mysticism, and nature through its' collection of anthemic, hard rock.

Hence the dramatic undertaking in bringing these epic songs to life in the live setting. And thank god for it... The band's unwavering commitment to doing The Century of Self justice translated into a kinetic kind of performance; one that sent an undeniable synergy buzzing 'bout the building the moment the band walked on stage. With fists in the air, sporadic mosh pit eruptions, and even a bit of crowd surfing (by audience and band members alike).
