Live in Cologne Germany

Staind

Year: 2008

Runtime: 01:29:02

Staind dove into bleaker recesses than ever before and surfaced with their heaviest and most hypnotic album to date, STAIND, their self-titled, seventh studio album.
The multi-platinum Massachusetts hard rock outfit Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok, and Johnny "Old School" April pushed itself to the very brink. There was struggle and strife, but, as a result, Staind constructed a collection of chaotically melodic songs that hearken back to their 1999 major label debut, Dysfunction, while wielding an instrumental and lyrical prowess that could only be cultivated by 16 years of writing, recording, and touring together.

This concert in Cologne Germany is one of just pure raw emotion and the performance is simply amazing. All the songs are sung with emotion drawn on lyrics taken from the lives of these exemplary band members.

  • Striking That Familiar Chord

    Puddle Of Mudd

    Year: 2005

    Runtime: 60 min

Puddle Of Mudd rose from the ashes of alternative metal with the release of their debut album Come Clean in 2001. Having been one of the first acts signed and released by Limp Bizkit front man Fred Dursts label, Flawless Records, Come Clean quickly went multi-platinum and spawned the hit singles Control, Blurry and She Hates Me. Although often grouped with the likes of Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, Puddle Of Mudds sound is a lot closer to the likes of Nirvana and more traditional hard rock. This was further reinforced by the release of their second album Life On Display in 2003. Striking That Familiar Cord was recorded in the intimate settings of the famous Key Club in Los Angeles, California, capturing the band at their blistering best and featuring the hits Control, Blurry, She Hates Me and Away From Me.

    Oceansize

    Year: 2007

    Runtime: 48 min

Oceansize were one of numerous British bands crafting epic, moody soundscapes in the post-Radiohead era. Their influences ran the gamut from space rock old (Pink Floyd) and new (Mogwai, the Verve) to alternative metal (Jane's Addiction, Tool), shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver), and even the avant-garde (Can, Tortoise). Formed in Manchester, England, the band featured vocalist/guitarist Mike Vennart, guitarists Gambler and Steve Durose, bassist Jon Ellis, and drummer Mark Herrin. Quickly building a local following, they issued several independent releases -- the "Saturday Morning Breakfast Show" single, the 2000 EP Amputee, the 2001 EP A Very Still Movement -- that got them named Manchester's best unsigned band. The following year, they toured with the Cooper Temple Clause and made a well-received appearance at Texas' South by Southwest festival.

  • Cosmic Egg

    Wolfmother

    Year: 2009

    Runtime: 1 hr 23 min

Live at the Coronet Theater, London. Wolfmother are here to entertain an expectant pack of music fans hungry for rock and salivating for roll. Up for the first course were Band Of Skulls, and the Southampton trio serve up three Michelin Stars. Their sound is brash, overwhelming and bounces off the walls of the London Coronet, wrapping the audience in a bubbling cocoon of sound. If none of the audience knew the musical coupling of the Kills-esque male/female singers before, they most definitely made sure they did after. After half an hour of thumping basslines and crashing riffs, the pulsing audience were well and truly warmed up.

  • Love is Here: Live

    Starsailor

    Year: 2001

    Runtime: 1 hr 17 min

Some would say that Starsailor are Chorley's biggest contribution to modern culture since the opening of the nearby Charnock Richard M6 motorway services in the 1960s. Like the aforementioned favourite resting point for Blackpool day-trippers Love Is Here (Live), will become a solid, long-stay favourite for fans. Recorded in November 2001, one month after the release of their debut album and while they were still being lauded as "the next big thing", the main feature is a live run through of the album. New composition "Some of Us" and the B-side "From a Whisper to a Scream" are also performed, along with versions of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and Elton John's "Rocket Man". The concert footage and the audio (Dolby 5.1) are of a high quality, and breakthrough tracks "Poor Misguided Fool" and "Alcoholic" sound stunning. The show is hampered, though, by the limited material the guys can draw upon, and Walsh's repetitive melancholic delivery of existing songs. What does become apparent is that after a couple more albums and a little more musical experimentation Starsailor are on course to be live giants.

    Year: 2009

    Runtime: 1 hr 35 min

"Since we put together our last film, the snowball that is Rise Against is still gathering size and speed. What you hold in your hands is the continuing story of our band, what it means to us, and what it means to people like you. At our request, all the live footage you see in the film is completely unedited; meaning we didn't go back and fix or re-do anything. We felt it should stand or fall on its own merit, and be embraced for what is, which is live music. Who knows, maybe we'll feel differently next year. But for now, the moments are captured raw as we make our way to another station : another mile." Rise Against

  • Live In London

    Supergrass

    Year: 2008

    Runtime: 1 hr 16 min

Like many other British bands of the '90s, Supergrass' musical roots lie in the infectiously catchy punk-pop of the Buzzcocks and the Jam, as well as the post-punk pop of Madness and the traditional Brit-pop of the Kinks and Small Faces. the band brings in elements of decidedly unhip groups like Elton John, as well as classic rockers like David Bowie, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones. With an exuberant, youthful enthusiasm, Supergrass tied all of their influences together in new surprising ways, where a Buzzcocks riff could slam into three-part harmonies out of "Crocodile Rock," or have a galloping music hall rhythm stutter like the best moments of the Who.

Recently, the band released The Century of Self on their own independent Richter Scale imprint. Rich, sophisticated, complex, yet ultimately articulate; Century of Self is deep in scope, straining themes of mythology, mysticism, and nature through its' collection of anthemic, hard rock.

Hence the dramatic undertaking in bringing these epic songs to life in the live setting. And thank god for it... The band's unwavering commitment to doing The Century of Self justice translated into a kinetic kind of performance; one that sent an undeniable synergy buzzing 'bout the building the moment the band walked on stage. Concert in Vancouver featuring "A Box Full of Sharp Objects," "On My Own" and more. The members of the Used had to overcome poverty, homelessness, and substance abuse, not to mention the straitlaced attitudes of their hometown of Orem, Utah, to bring their screamo-tinged brand of post-hardcore to life. But they persevered and earned a contract with Reprise Records, releasing their self-titled debut album in June 2002. Having only played a handful of shows around Orem prior to their record's release, the band — vocalist Bert McCracken, guitarist Quinn Allman, bassist Jeph Howard, and drummer Branden Steineckert — began relentless nationwide touring that quickly saw their fan base multiply.
