  • Bridge School Benefit

    Various Artists

    Year: 2010

    Runtime: 3 hr 55 min

The Bridge School is an innovative organization educating children with severe speech and physical impairments. The Concert series began in 1986 when Pegi Young, co-founder of The Bridge School, enlisted her husband, Neil Young, and friends to play an all acoustic concert to benefit the Bridge School in its founding year. That concert, featuring Don Henley, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young started a tradition that has lasted to the present day. The 25th Anniversary Edition showcases some of the many highlights from the past 25 years, featuring 25 rare and acoustic performances from artists such as Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Bonnie Raitt, Metallica, The Who, and (of course) Neil Young. The program also features a documentary on The Bridge School as well as a behind-the-scenes look at The Bridge School Benefit Concerts. "The Bridge School Story" is a portrait of the school and its mission, as told by co-founder Pegi Young, Executive Director Dr. Vicki R. Casella, and the staff of The Bridge School. "Backstage at the Bridge School Concerts" explores what makes the concerts such a personally memorable experience for all participants: the artists, fans, concert staff, and most importantly, the students, graduates, and parents of The Bridge School.

    Runtime: 1 hr 34 min

By the time Lady Antebellum swept the 2011 Grammy Awards they had sold millions of records, had No. 1 hits, and earned countless awards. Other than awards shows and television appearances, the world had not yet seen the trio's music come to life on stage. Until then they had opened for the industry's biggest superstars, and now it was time to step out on their own. Not only did they own the night, they owned over 100 of them across 11 countries in front of more than 1 million fans. The concept for the stage was simply sketched out on a paper plate while out on tour the summer of 2011, but evolved into a massive musical playground to showcase Lady A's exuberant talent. They dreamed big, but couldn't fathom what was about to happen to them. Before taking the show overseas, Lady Antebellum celebrated the final weekend of the North American leg by documenting the show from Little Rock, AR and telling their humble perspective of becoming international touring superstars. The 90-minute performance includes No. 1 hits "I Run To You", "We Owned The Night", "American Honey", "Just A Kiss", "Our Kind of Love" and of course, the greatest selling country single of all time, "Need You Now". • Joy to the World: Live at Soundstage

    Faith Hill

    Year: 2007

    Runtime: 53 min

Working with producers Dann Huff and Byron Gallimore, engineer Allen Sides and Grammy-winning arranger David Campbell, Faith Hill has crafted a one-of-a-kind Christmas record with Joy to the World, freshly conceived yet anchored in tradition. It is a loving tribute to both the spirit and the music of Christmas, one that pays homage to the classics.

Recorded over a two-year period, the album features reworked classics along with the only original song on the track and her single, "A Baby Changes Everything." The arrangements are diverse. From the big band orchestration of songs like "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, "Winter Wonderland" and "Holly Jolly Christmas," to the a cappella "The Little Drummer Boy" and the Appalachian feel of "Away In A Manger." The CD opens with "Joy To The World," and, says Hill, "From the very first note you hear, I wanted it to be joyous. I wanted to give you (the listener) the impression of what the song meant before a word was ever uttered."

Over the course of the past two years Faith has spent much of her time on the road. 2006’s Soul2Soul II Tour and Soul2Soul Tour 2007, which she did with
her husband Tim McGraw, was and still is the highest grossing country tour of all
time. It was selected as Pollstar Magazine’s "Major Tour of 2006" over industry powerhouses Madonna and the Rolling Stones. With the wrap up of the tour in 2007, they have the highest grossing multi-year North American tour in country music history.

That tour became one of the many highlights of a career that includes five Grammy Awards and countless other awards, the sale of more than 30 million albums, and hit singles including "Wild One," "It Matters To Me," "This Kiss," "Breathe," "The Way You Love Me" "Cry" and "Mississippi Girl." And perhaps most impressive of all the accomplishments, Faith Hill is the only female artist to celebrate three consecutive album debuts atop both Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart and Country Chart. With a voice that is soulful and powerful, there is simply no question that Faith is one of the music industry’s top vocalists.

As one of this generation’s most credible and visible talents, Faith Hill has based her career on dedication, passion and commitment.

  • Behind Prison Walls

    Johnny Cash

    Year: 1975

    Runtime: 50 min

The late Man in Black headlines this 1976 televised concert, shot inside the Tennessee State Prison and featuring post-hippie chanteuse Linda Ronstadt, country picker Roy Clark, and, rather incongruously, tuxedo-ed comedian Foster Brooks, whose '70s drunk act was often funny on, say, Dean Martin's Celebrity Roast, but seems a little wrong for an audience of felons.
Ronstadt is surely appreciated for her short skirt and sweet pop-blues (her "Love Has No Pride" nears epic intensity), and Clark's showmanship works with kitsch like "Orange Blossom Special." But it's Cash's "Sunday Morning Coming Down," Folsom Prison Blues," and famously bloody "Boy Named Sue" that resonate most powerfully with his, uh, captive audience. There's a touch of condescension toward the prisoners in some stage patter and song choices: Sure, Ronstadt had a hit with "Desperado" at the time, but here it sounds like she's wagging her finger at the crowd.
