    Wild Powwers

    Year: 2016

    Runtime: 44 min

Wild Powwers has more oomph than Ws in their name. Jordan Gomes is a beast on bass, Lupe Flores is the human embodiment of a kick drum, and Lara Hilgeman manages to channel riot girl and soul diva at the same time. It’s dark and heavy and dirty and magical. The three of them bring in all kinds of influences, but it all still manages to sound like the same band in every song, somehow. This trio – no, trifecta – has the prolific songwriting chops and hardworking road mentality that it takes to make it as a band. They’ve got a unique sound, great attitudes, and songs that get lodged in the deepest, darkest bits of your brain.

    The Fame Riot

    Year: 2015

    Runtime: 22 min

The Fame Riot is clearly one of the best bands to emerge from the Seattle scene. Beyond the look & the youthful swagger, they provide great music and great entertainment. In a 2013 Sound Off interview, Shazzam Watkins and Liz Scarlett described their music as “a soup that never stops cooking but you can try it any time you like.” Their quest to create infectiously danceable, yet credible glam pop-rock is a dream fulfilled, because at this fortuitous age they have the talent to go out on a limb with their dandy style and driving music.

Icelandic chamber pop group Of Monsters and Men broke onto the international music scene in 2011, just a year after winning their country's nationwide battle-of-the-band competition Musiktilraunir. InCahoots & Spellcaster

    Year: 2016

    Runtime: 23 min

Finding a rock band in Seattle these days is a bit of an oddity, but one with catchy and infectious songs that stick in your head is rarer still. Seattle Washington's InCahoots is exactly that kind of band. They will be releasing their 4th album in March, Dogland which was recorded at the legendary Hall of Justice Studios with producer Andy Park.
This feisty quartet, is lead by guitar-wielding chanteuse Christina Crammer — a vigilant disciple of Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde and Debbie Harry. Christina's soaring vocals have a beautiful mix of "vixen and venom" that highlight her clever songwriting skills. The other members of InCahoots (Rich Huston on bass, Brad Judy on lead guitar, and Dave Crossett on drums) provide a solid background to the mixture of old-school punk and classic-rock riffage — the songs setup her sing-along choruses in a powerful way.
Hailing from the rain soaked streets of Portland, OR, Spellcaster has been hard at work making a name for themselves since the summer of 2009. The online release of their first demo, Spells of Speed, in February 2010 caught the eye of New York label Heavy Artillery Records, leading to their first record deal in April of the same year.
With the re-release of Spells of Speed via Heavy Artillery, the band began their first North American tour in October 2010, quickly followed by the release of their debut Under the Spell in 2011. Rigorous touring ensued as the band crossed the country promoting their music for the following 2 years. Sometime in 2012 a wall was hit, and it became apparent that a lineup change was imminent.
In early 2013, vocalist Thomas Adams and drummer Shad Covert departed the band, leading guitarist Tyler Loney to assume lead vocals duties. Guitarist Bryce R. VanHoosen and drummer Colin Vranizan were enlisted to complete the lineup. Shortly after, the band began writing their self-titled sophomore album, which – aside from a two-week west coast tour in summer – took up the entirety of 2013.
In December of the same year, the band entered Falcon & Audiosiege Studios in Portland, with Toxic Holocaust front man Joel Grind co-producing and engineering. After 3 months of constant tracking and mixing, their entirely self-funded album was completed in February. With their second album now complete, the band is preparing a thorough touring cycle throughout 2015 and the following year.

Sometimes authentic country music artists do not grow up in what we would consider hotbeds of country music. Sometimes they grow up in Haslev, Denmark, the native town of current Seattle resident, Jessica Lynne, a sensational and rising country star and one of London Tone Music’s most successful artists. She explains how it all started: “When I was 12, I was home with the flu and our TV provider had a “chance channel” available for a limited time. Well, this time it was CMT and being at home with nothing to do and feeling really horrible, I just kind of left it on that channel and little by little just fell in love with the genre.” Faith Hill’s, Wild One, a song that was #1 at the time, inspired her immediately. “I felt like she was singing about me,” she remembers. “It touched my heart in a way that I had never felt before.”

My Young creates a characterization of himself in every performance. He and his band mates make up a quartet of cerebral musicians whose sound is self-described as “mournful dance, new wave music”. Young’s rich vocals are suggestive of a Depeche Mode sound, but then it stands on a foundation of heavy synth, rough guitar, and pounding drum lines. Coupled with Young’s pointed lyrics, Jupe Jupe has discovered a whole new sound for their Pacific Northwest audience.
