  The 30-year history of Wishbone Ash has hardly been smooth, with numerous personnel changes and gradually fading popularity since the band's most acclaimed album, Argus, was released in 1972. What you'll witness here, then, is an inspiring and altogether good-natured example of survival embodied by original Wishbone guitarist Andy Powell. Looking youthful at 50, his formerly long hair now shaved off altogether, Powell remains a virtuoso ax-man, matched by fellow ace Mark Birch (temporarily filling the shoes of the departed Ted Turner) to recreate Wishbone's signature twin-guitar sound. As the sole survivor of Wishbone's original lineup, Powell happily presides over the group's considerable legacy, epitomized here by outstanding performances of the Ash classics "Phoenix" and "Blowin' Free." The concert's a no-frills affair with an occasionally uneven mix, but the music comes through with clarity and gusto, reminding us that Wishbone Ash's unique blend of musicianship remains influential some three decades later.

  Frank Zappa's New York Halloween 1981 concerts were filmed Live at The Palladium. This 'thing' entitled "The Torture Never Stops” was created in its entirety by FZ from the original concert production and intended by the Artist as one of 3 Television Specials. This is the longest version of the three - the others, "You Are What You Is" and "Dumb All Over", having actually aired. Halloween was Frank Zappa’s favourite holiday, and New York was the site of Frank Zappa Halloween concerts for years!  The billion and a half airings by MTV of the concerts (non-edited) followed on closely from the release of the double album “You Are What You Is” in September of that year on Frank Zappa’s own recently founded and thoroughly independent label, Barking Pumpkin.  Much of the set list is drawn from that work. All Frank Zappa shows were unique experiences with Zappa on guitar and baton, leading his band on flights of improvisation and drawing ever more intense performances from them. “The Torture Never Stops” cements Zappa’s reputation as one of the most innovative and challenging composers and performers of the 20th century.

In the process, they became one the most successful bands in the world. Their 1986 album “Invisible Touch”, for example, produced five US top ten singles including number one with the title song.

The centrepiece of the concert is of course the concerto itself but it is preceded by a short set of other Jon Lord tracks, songs from Roger Glovers Butterfly Ball (sung by Ronnie James Dio) and Ian Paices jazz arrangement of the early Purple classic Wring That Neck. Following the concerto are five Deep Purple classics culminating with Smoke On The Water.

  Emerson, Lake and Palmer, known to all as ELP, were progressive rock’s first supergroup. Keith Emerson (keyboards) came from The Nice, Greg Lake (guitar, bass & vocals) from King Crimson and Carl Palmer (drums) from Atomic Rooster. Formed in 1970 they were an instant success and went on to have a series of hugely successful albums throughout the seventies before splitting up in the early eighties. Reunited in the early nineties they produced a new album, Black Moon, and began to tour again. In 1997 they embarked on a world tour which included this performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 7. It is the only film from this tour that is available. The set includes ELP classics from across their career including Karn Evil 9 (“Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends”), Hoedown, Take A Pebble, Lucky Man, Tarkus, Pictures At An Exhibition and Fanfare For The Common Man. Also featured are rare tracks that have never appeared on ELP studio albums such as Touch And Go, Dance Creole and Carmina Burana. The booklet features individual sleeve notes from Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer.

  'From The Vault' is a new series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive which are getting their first official release. 'L.A. Forum Live In 1975' is the second title in this series. The Rolling Stones Tour Of The Americas '75 was the band's first tour with new guitarist Ronnie Wood. Even before the dates started there were dramatic scenes in New York City at the official tour announcement when the band unexpectedly turned up on a flatbed truck to play 'Brown Sugar'. After a couple of low key warm-up shows in Louisiana the tour took in 44 dates between the 3rd of June and the 8th of August 1975. They settled into the L.A. Forum for a five night stint from July 9th to 13th and this concert film features the show from July 12th. The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show.

This show was filmed in Sydney, Australia and is the only full length concert film of the band at this time. It's a stunning concert with the band in incendiary form. The setlist mixes then new tracks from the "Perfect Strangers" album with favorites from the early seventies culminating in the brilliant "Smoke On The Water" finale. This is without doubt one of the finest Deep Purple concerts ever filmed and a must have for their legions of fans.

The undoubted climax of this tour was headlining the California Jam Festival at Ontario Speedway in California, in front of 200,000 people. Their explosive set is presented here on DVD for the first time. The set list includes tracks from "Burn", as well as classics like "Space Truckin'" and "Smoke On The Water".
  As the show came to a close, Blackmore - angered by troubles backstage - took his revenge on one of the TV cameras, before exploding his amps and destroying several guitars. It made for a visually astonishing climax to the set, and almost got the band banned from playing live in America again.
