Guns N' Roses shocked and awed upon their arrival on the 80s rock scene. Their notoriety and musicianship bred sales of 150 million records, making them one of the world’s biggest rock bands of all time. With his friend, Izzy Stradlin, Axl entered the Los Angeles music scene as the lead singer of rock band Hollywood Rose and from playing the Hollywood circuit, Guns N' Roses would soon emerge Signed to Geffen Records for a $75,000 advance, the band entered the studio to work on their debut, Appetite For Destruction Bassist Duff McKagan brought a riff to the recording studio and within three hours the band completed Welcome to the Jungle. The song would bring the group to the world’s attention. After Welcome to the Jungle became an unexpected MTV hit, follow-up single Sweet Child of Mine was placed on heavy rotation on US radio play-lists.
